Breast Cancer, A Husband's Reflections

the new release from Paul McKenzie

In the Fall of 2014, Paul's pretty wife Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer. In order to cope, he wrote a series of reflections throughout that challenging period of their lives, so that he would not forget what they went through, and how God walked through this trial with them, many times carrying them when they could not walk themselves. They learned a lot about prayer, God's providence, the eternal perspective, and the love of friends and family.

Paul's Reflections also include those that he wrote for Julie's mother, Glenda, who was suffering from lung cancer during Julie's fight with the breast cancer. Glenda spent much of her last year with them before she passed on to be with Jesus in May of 2015.

In these Reflections, the reader encounters a mind centered on the God Who is ever-present and always active, even in the midst of challenges in a fallen world. In this moving and motivating collection, Paul McKenzie displays the mind of a theologian through the heart of an artist. Paul has spent decades thinking deeply about Who God is and sharing those thoughts in his music and poetry. He is that all-too-rare combination of left and right brain, doctrine and application, truth and beauty.
